Crucible to Remove Two of its Three Game Modes

Crucible to Remove Two of its Three Game Modes

It has only been three weeks since Crucible launched, and they are removing two of the three game modes available in-game.

In a statement from the developers, Relentless Studios noted that the two game modes, Harvester Command and Alpha Hunters, will be retired in favor of keeping the Heart of the Hives game mode as it is the most possible of the three. This change will allow for Relentless Studios to focus on bettering this game mode.

It looks like the developers will follow a two-phased approach at building on to the Heart of the Hives centered mindset, and then release new systems that would better polish out the game mode and other priorities.

Relentless Studios' top priorities appear to be "voice chat, a surrender option, a system to deal with AFK players ruining matches, an expanded ping system, and potentially some form of mini-map." They also stated that they would be working on bettering the new-player experience, matchmaking, hit feedback, and improving the overall framerate.

Will this change help gain players back to Crucible? Or will this hurt the game in the long run? What are your thoughts?
