Today, No Man's Sky comes to the Xbox Game Pass for both the Xbox One and PC. On top of that, the developers of No Man's Sky, Hello Games, announced that they will be replacing the entire network backend to open up cross-play between all platforms.
This change means that, whether you are playing the game on PC, VR, PS4, or Xbox One, you will now be able to explore the game with others!
Today also marks the release of the Windows 10 version of No Man's Sky in addition to the Steam version of the game, giving players more options to choose their desired platform.
The update brings some other improvements, like the ability to create and join groups with a new interactive prompt in-game. You can also add them as a friend and manage the friend list in-game. You can also see which platform your friend is playing on thanks to a little icon that will display next to a player's name.
Voice chat has been re-enabled on the PS4, and automatic translation is being added to the game for Voice Chat. The is interesting, and I wonder how well it will work!
There is an abundance of other new features and bug fixes included in this update as well, which you can see on their changelog.
