Lenovo Thinkpad T460 Shadow Review

Welcome to the first iteration of Shadow.Tips blog series, "Will it run Shadow?". Shadow is basically like streaming any old video to your computer, so, you should be able to run Shadow on A LOT of hardware, but sometimes, it may just have some issues. This blog series will review review different hardware to see if they are Shadow capable!

Today, we will be reviewing the Lenovo Thinkpad T460. Why the T460? Well, Lenovo makes some quality laptops, and the Thinkpad series is iconic for being of good quality and performance. And the best part, they are decently cheap used! A used T460 can be purchased for $300-$500. A great price for great laptop! Let's get into the meats of this beast.

Buy a Lenovo T460 on Amazon!

Processor

The Lenovo T460 has a decent processor lineup. You can find one with an Intel i7-6600U, i5-6300U, i5-6200U, or an i3-6100U Processor. These processors are all great for Shadow, as all of them support 4k 60hz video play via Displayport. So no matter which processor you have, you should be able to stream Shadow without any issue :)!

Memory

The Lenovo T460 supports up to 32GB DDR3 memory. Most models will have 8GB while some will have 4GB. If you can get your hands on a T460 with 16GB of memory, I highly recommend it.

Storage

This isn't a huge thing when it comes to Shadow, however, try and make sure to get an SSD in one of these things. Regular Hard Drives are just so slow.

Battery

This beast has up to 18 hour battery life. It has a 72whr external battery with a 23whr internal battery. You can easily play games on your Shadow for hours without any issue!

Display

This laptop comes with a 14in screen with either 1366x768 or 1920x1080. Do yourself a favor and only get the 1920x1080 screen. It is so much better!

I/O Ports

RJ45
Docking
Mini DisplayPort™
HDMI™
SD Card Slot
Smart Card Reader(Optional)
Bluetooth® 4.1
3 x USB 3.0 (one Always On)

Decent I/O for a laptop. If you are going to game with a 4k monitor, please make sure to use the Mini DisplayPort, other then that, it is great!

Conclusion

So... in conclusion, will it run Shadow? With the 6th gen Intel Processors, and a decent amount of memory, this laptop will run Shadow like a champ! You should have no issues gaming with your ShadowPC using this laptop. In fact, I recommend this laptop if you are looking for a small laptop to game and do productivity work on!
